Poached pear & cinnamon porridge

This bowl of deliciousness is quick, easy and tasty. It can be on your table in 10 minutes!

This is the kind of food that makes your heart happy. It’s sweet, healthy and warms you up on the cooler mornings, oats are a great breakfast option to keep you fuller for longer.

Ingredients

1 pear

1/2 tbs cinnamon

1/2 tbs vanilla extract

Ingredients for porridge:

1/2 cup oats

1 1/2 cups milk of choice (I used almond milk)

1/2 tsp cinnamon

1 tsp vanilla extract

Garnishes sprinkled:

Sunflower seeds

Slivered almonds

Raspberries

Drizzle maple syrup

Method

Bring saucepan to the boil, add pear, cinnamon and vanilla extract. Simmer for 10 minutes or until pear is softened.

Whilst the pear is poaching, bring almond milk to the boil in a seperate saucepan.

Add oats to your milk, along with cinnamon and vanilla extract. Simmer until cooked to your preference.

Once pear is softened, remove from the water and slice in half removing the core.

Pour porridge into a bowl, add the pear on top.

Add all garnishes to serve.
